Kelsey Archbold’s work explores the intersection of memory, nature and human emotion, often delving into the subconscious world where reality and fantasy blur. Inspired by the quiet mysteries of the natural world and the tender, yet complex, dynamics of human relationships, she creates dreamlike scenes that invite viewers to step into a introspective journey.
Through the use of vibrant colors and surreal imagery, Kelsey’s paintings evoke a sense of nostalgia and wonder. The recurring motifs of rabbits, forests and solitary figures serve as symbols of innocence, vulnerability and unseen connections. These elements create a narrative that is both personal and universal, drawing on archetypal themes of home, belonging and transformation. Kelsey Archbold has been an artist in the Austin scene for the past decade, exhibiting at such places as The Lockhartpost Gallery, the Austin Art Garage, CloudTree, among others. She graduated with honors in painting from Kansas City Art Institute, and studied interactive art and sciences at the Burren College of Art. |
